TV3 News visits CAPTEC

18th November 1999

A news team from TV3, Ireland's newest national television channel, visited CAPTEC at our offices in Malahide today. CAPTEC developed the on-board attitude control software for the European Space Agency's XMM (X-Ray Multi-Mirror) satellite which is due to be launched on the 10th. December. To promote the launch of the new space observatory, ESA ran a competition for secondary schools from every country in Europe to submit essays about XMM. Students from Malahide Community School won a trip to visit ESA's launch site at Kourou in French Guiana next week. An entire class of 24 students along with 3 teachers will be travelling. TV3 news will send a reporter to cover the event.
